flirting is emotionally cheating. if you’re really happy with the person you’re with then there is NO reason you should need to be sexually playful with anyone other than the person you’re with. when someone cheats on the person they’re with, how do you think it started? BY THEM FLIRTING! i dont see the need to get content about yourself or the ego boost from anyone else but the person you’re with. if you think the person you’re with is amazing to you, then what else do you need? what other kind of ego boost do you need? obviously you are someone worth having or else they wouldnt want to be with you. why the need to get that good feeling from someone else?

Thanks for your thoughtful response I agree that love can make sex better, largely due to the fact that knowing someone so well brings a certain familiarity with their body and physical likes/dislikes…although I don’t think love automatically makes for the best sex. Great sex can be had without being in love. When you get down to it, it’s a matter of technical proficiency and personal preferences. I might argue that there’s no such thing as bad sex when you’re in love though…that’d be an interesting point to think about. Thanks again!

I think you cut right through it all to arrive at the heart of it all.
a relationship that exists solely on the basis of sex may be fun for sure but without love that’s all it will
ever be.
experiencing sex within the boundaries and safety of love–what we call lovemaking–is the very best kind of sex. and even if sexual intimacy fades or its frequency decreases, love can survive, even flourish if–as you concluded–both couples are satisfied and, I would add, willing to compromise to ensure the other partner’s happiness.
